What happens when i take too much protein?
When using too much whey protein, such as more than 3 shakes per day, it can lead to stomach pain, diarrhea, or a bloated feeling due to excessive protein intake.
How many protein do I need?
The recommended daily protein intake from normal food is 0.8 - 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight. However, this is not accurate because age and how active you are have a big influence on this. Below is an overview to calculate your protein requirement! Should you not reach the recommended protein intake? Then we recommend a protein shake.
Groups | Grams of protein per KG body weight |
Non athletes | 0,8 |
Athletes | 1,5 |
Strength athletes | 1,8 |
Weight losers | 1,8 |
Vegetarian/vegan | 1,3 |
Pregnancy | 0,9 |
Breastfeeding | 1 |
Senior citizens (70+) | 1 |
For example: A strength athlete with a body weight of 70kg needs 70 x 1.8 grams of protein = 126 grams of protein per day.
Can i take whey protein when i have a lactose intolerance?
It is not recommended to use whey protein as a protein source when you have such a intolerance. We recommend using whey isolate due to its reduced lactose content
When do i need to take protein?
Whey protein can be consumed at any time of the day, but it is particularly effective post-workout due to its rapid absorption into the body
What is whey?
Whey protein is a type of protein derived from whey, the liquid part of milk that separates during cheese production. Whey protein is considered a complete protein because it contains all nine essential amino acids that the body cannot produce on its own and must obtain from food sources. It is often used as a dietary supplement to support muscle growth and recovery, as well as for potential health benefits. Our whey concentrate contains carbohydrates and fats, in contrast to whey isolate, which contains minimal amounts of these.
